Brillantes on the 2018 World Tour
The
second stop of the World Tour Mujeres Brillantes 2018 took place in the city of
Sao Paulo , Brazil during the International Women's Week . Unlike in Panama
City in January, which focused more on the visits to Jewelry´s Schools and
Stores allied to the Association, the World Tour - Brazil focused on
promoting talk sessions focused on
women's entrepreneurship.
On
the first day of the World Tour - Brazil, President Ali Pastorini signed an
alliance with the European Institute of Design (IED) leading members of the
Association to visit the establishment, meet their laboratories and study the
possibility of developing a project for professional development of the woman.

Government
has decided to speed up input tax refund to exporters. As per rule 91 of CGST
Rules, 2017, ninety per cent of the refund amount claimed shall be granted on a
provisional basis within a period not exceeding seven days from the date of
acknowledgement of the refund claim.
Further,
as per section 54(7) of the CGST Act, 2017, the final order for granting refund
shall be issued within sixty days from the date of receipt of the complete
application. Out of total taxpayers under GST, 64% were also registered under

curb and prevent fraud, Banks to examine accounts over 50Cr
Reserve
Bank of India (RBI) has apprised that it had issued two circulars to banks,
related to security and operational controls in SWIFT (Society for Worldwide
Interbank Financial Telecommunication) environment, in the months of August and
November 2016. As per RBI inputs, compliance with RBI’s instructions is the
bank’s responsibility and the Compliance Officer in the bank monitors the same.
Further, RBI monitors compliance to its instructions on an ongoing basis and
during RBI inspections and, where necessary, enforcement action is also
initiated.

Issues Clarification!
The
past few days have seen some misapprehensions being generated on the scheme of
gold imports known as the 80:20 scheme.
The factual position is being clarified.
The
increase in gold imports had put pressure on the current account deficit in
2012-13. A series of steps were taken in
response to this situation, including increasing the import duties on gold and
gold products, and placing restrictions on gold imports.

CFC in Gujarat to be made operational by
GJEPC

Update
2: The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), apex body of
Indian Gem & Jewellery Industry has established its third Common Facility
Centre(CFC) also locally known as ‘Ratna Abhushan Suvidha Kendra’ at Amreli in
Gujarat.
Shri
Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry inaugurated the CFC in
the presence of Shri. Naranbhai Kachhadia, MP, Lok Sabha & Shri Pareshbhai
Dhanani, Leader of Opposition, Gujarat Vidhan Sabha, Mr Manoj Dwivedi, Joint
Secretary, MoC&I and other distinguished dignitaries.
The
World Federation of Diamond Bourses' (WFDB) Executive Committee Meeting held in
