The
sale on October will present evening bag
Sotheby’s
announces a new sale dedicated to Jewellery and Watches in Paris this autumn.
This new date in the auction calendar, entitled Joaillerie Paris, will coincide
with a double-anniversary this year for Sotheby’s in France: the auction
house’s 50 years on French soil, and 20 years in the historic Galerie
Charpentier.
To
mark the occasion, we will present Jewels and Watches from the late 19th and
20th century, alongside a small selection of contemporary creations, thus
combining the emblematic with the original. Among the designs on offer will be
pieces by France’s most illustrious jewellery houses such as Boucheron, Boivin,
Cartier, M. Gérard, Sterlé, Van Cleef & Arpels and Chaumet, including
jewels set with important diamonds, Kashmir sapphires and Burmese rubies.
Institutions
of National Importance declared!
The
Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given its
approval for introduction of Bill in Parliament for amendment of NID Act, 2014
to include the four new National Institutes of Design (NID) viz. National
Institute of Design, Amaravati/Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh; National Institute
of Design, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh; National Institute of Design, Jorhat, Assam
and National Institute of Design, Kurukshetra, Haryana within the ambit of the
National Institute of Design Act, 2014 and to declare them as Institutions of
National Importance (INIs) at par with the National Institute of Design,
Ahmedabad.

global resource portfolio and supports production potential
De
Beers Group announces the completion of the previously announced Plan of
Arrangement pursuant to which De Beers Canada has acquired all of the
outstanding securities of Peregrine Diamonds Ltd at a purchase price of C$0.24
per share, for a total cash consideration of C$107 million. The acquisition includes
the high quality Chidliak diamond resource located in Canada’s Nunavut
Territory and other properties elsewhere in Nunavut and the Northwest
Territories.
The
Diamond Producers Association (DPA) has announced that RZ Murowa Holdings Ltd,
majority owner and operator of Murowa Diamonds Private Ltd (Murowa Diamonds),
has joined the DPA, effective 1 July.
Murowa
Diamonds operates the Murowa mine in Zimbabwe, which was purchased from Rio
Tinto in 2015 and expanded significantly under its new leadership. Manit M.
Shah, Chief Operating Officer of Murowa Diamonds, will join the Board of
Directors of the DPA in September 2018. Mr. Shah has considerable experience
driving business performance and managing international operations.

Mining Inc. (TSX-V.DMI / OTCQB-DMIFF), (the “Company”) is pleased to announce
the results of the tender and sale of the previously announced rough diamonds
recovered as part of initial resumed processing exercises performed following
the recent screening modifications at the Company’s Krone-Endora at Venetia
Project (the “Project”). The Company
sold a total of 2,606.50 carats of rough diamonds for gross proceeds of USD
$726,588, resulting in an average price of USD $278.76 per carat. Included in
the rough diamonds tendered and sold were three individual gem quality
diamonds’ in the special (+10.8 carats) category including one high quality
18.44 carat gem octahedron, and two gem quality diamonds weighing 18.57 and
14.70 carats respectively. These special diamonds sold for gross proceeds of
USD $195,810, or USD $3786.70 per carat. Net of these special category rough
diamonds, the balance of the rough diamonds tendered and sold achieved an
average price of USD$207.76 per carat.

The
Millennial and Gen Z generations combined accounted for two-thirds of global
diamond jewellery sales in 2017, as diamond jewellery demand reached a new
record high of US$82 billion, according to data published today by De Beers
Group in its latest Diamond Insight Report.
