Minerals, Inc announced that it had concluded an extensive drilling campaign of
one of its several mineral rights in the Jequitinhonha River Valley located in
the northern part of the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil.
The
Company drilled 35 holes spaced 30 to 50 meters utilizing a Banka 4-inch drill.
All holes were positive for fine gold as observed by the drilling team, with
samples collected for quantitative geochemical analysis. The average depth for
the auriferous gravel layer was 8 meters and with a thickness between 1.5 to
9.3 meters.
GSI,
one of the largest gemological organizations in the world, has opened a new
laboratory in Hong Kong. The new facility will serve its international customer
base and will offer easy and complete access to GSI’s numerous laboratory
services. GSI's Hong Kong office will offer a variety of services from grading
loose diamonds and jewelry to screening and testing jewelry for undisclosed lab
grown diamonds.
On
3 October, Sotheby’s Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite Autumn Sale 2018
will present unique contemporary creations alongside phenomenal gems from
nature. Headlined by the Ai (‘愛’) diamond, a
rare and important 5-carat fancy vivid blue diamond and diamond ring (Est.
HK$98-120 million / US$12.49 – 15.29 million), the season also features a

for Industry Innovation of The Year
The
International Institute of Diamond Grading & Research (IIDGR), a member of
De Beers Group, is pleased to announce that its industry-first synthetic
screening device, SYNTHdetect, was awarded Industry Innovation of the Year at
last night’s JNA Awards in Hong Kong.
Launched
last year, SYNTHdetect is the first synthetic diamond screening device to
simultaneously test multiple stones in set jewellery and has the industry’s
lowest referral rate at around 0.05 per cent.

Heritage

DJGF to kick off from 29th September
The
Delhi Jewellery and Gem Fair (DJGF), hosted by UBM India, is all set to
congregate prime jewellers, import & export merchants and key industry
associations in the capital city with its 7th edition. The three day fair from
(29th September – 1st October, 2018) to be held at the Pragati Maidan, New
Delhi, will showcase some of the newest trends in the gem and jewellery
industry.
The
fair is recognised as an integral part of the jewellery sector by associations,
and the industry at large, with support from eminent associations namely The
Bullion & Jewellers Association, Delhi Jewellers Association, Maliwara
Jewellers Association & Karol Bagh Jewellers Association.
The
Alternative Mechanism comprising of its Chairperson, the Union Finance Minister
Shri Arun Jaitley and Cabinet Ministers, Shri Piyush Goyal and Ms. Nirmala
Sitharaman met here today in New Delhi and decided that Bank of Baroda, Vijaya
Bank and Dena Bank may consider amalgamation of the three banks.
The
envisaged amalgamation will be the First-ever three-way consolidation of banks
in India, with a combined business of Rs. 14.82 lakh crore, making it India’s Third
Largest Bank.
