What
sales teams should do
To
prepare for the next recession?
According
to the ink by Mark Kovac, a partner with Bain & Company & Jamie
Cleghorn, the current economic expansion is long by historical standards, and
thus the risk of recession rises with each passing month. Recessions catch many
companies by surprise, with predictable results. In the 2001 recession, total
sales for the S&P 500 declined by 9% from its pre-recession peak to its
trough 18 months later-almost a year after the recession officially ended. But
these periods also present opportunities for well-prepared companies to take
advantage of the turmoil and gain share.

Joaillerie Collection, featuring 3.90-carats of Ashoka-cut diamonds with an

Cutting
diamonds should be one of the main areas that will develop the economy of new
Armenia. This was announced by the Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol
Pashinyan during the pre-election campaign in Nor Hachn. "In the new
situation this issue is not easy to solve, but I believe that we can achieve
success in this area," Pashinyan stressed.
He
noted that from 2000 to 2010, about 10,000 jobs in the field of diamond cutting
were closed in Nor Hachn. "These jobs were closed due to the manipulations
that took place with the AMD course," Pashinyan stressed.
He
also noted that the new authorities are doing everything possible so that
investors come to Armenia and make investments in the field of diamond cutting.
Monthly
Imports reach 2 million containers for first time as retailers continue rush to
beat tariffs said NRF! Imports at the nation’s major retail container ports
have set another new record, reaching 2 million containers in a single month
for the first time as retailers continued to bring merchandise into the country
ahead of a now-postponed increase in tariffs on goods from China, according to
the monthly Global Port Tracker report released today by the National Retail
Federation (NRF) and Hackett Associates.
“President
Trump has declared a temporary truce in the trade war, but these imports came
in before that announcement was made,” NRF Vice President for Supply Chain and
Customs Policy Jonathan Gold said. “We hope that the temporary stand-down
becomes permanent, but in the meantime there has been a rush to bring
merchandise in before existing tariffs go up or new ones can be imposed.
China’s abuses of trade policy need to be addressed, but tariffs that drive up
prices for American families and costs for U.S. businesses are not the answer.”

Designed
to highlight American creativity and resourcefulness, the American Innovation
$1 Coin Program challenges each State or Territory to define its place in the
Nation’s history of innovation. Each of these jurisdictions, in consultation
with the Department of the Treasury, identifies concepts emblematic of an
innovation, an innovator, or a group of innovators unique to that location and
significant to the country’s progress. The Secretary of the Treasury approves
the final design to be struck on each State’s or Territory’s representative
coin.
The
2018 American Innovation $1 Proof Coin launches the American Innovation $1 Coin
Program, which celebrates and honors significant American innovation and
pioneering efforts of individuals or groups in each of the 50 States, District
of Columbia, and U.S. territories.
