Shekhar Raja Jewellers launches first time in Jabalpur, a brand “YUG” by Tanvi Gold Cast an exclusive gold jewellery embellished with Swarovski Zirconia
On Saturday, 6th April 2019, Shekhar Raja Jewellers launched a brand “YUG” by Tanvi Gold Cast, an exclusive gold jewellery embellished with Swarovski Zirconia for the first time in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
Gemmological Institute of India (GII), a pioneer institute for gem
stone certification and education organised a half day interactive seminar on
“Present status on the developments in the area of colour stones and future
Directions” in the morning of 23rd February in Hotel Revival,
Chowpatty Sea Face, Mumbai. The main objectives were to review continuous
developments in this subject and interact with our valuable customers. Participation
was by invitation. About thirty major gemstone traders and fifteen GII
scientific colleagues participated in this seminar. Seminar was inaugurated by
Shri Bakul R Mehta, Chairman, GII and in his inaugural address, he spoke on the
need for openness in the market, use of scientific methods for the
identification as well as origin determination and requirement of quality data
for certification. He conveyed to participants the importance of using
harmonised protocols and standardisation of laboratories, and the progress made
in this direction. Shri Kirti Das welcomed the participants. Dr. AVR Reddy made
a presentation on the flow of analysis and certification at GII.

Hong Kong, February 27, 2019: NGTC is
organising a half day open Forum meeting Win-Win on 28th afternoon with
CIBJO, GIT, GII, CGL, DFHK, GHK and HKIG as corganisers. NGTC invited many experts from many institutes to
talk or present views in Win-Win. For the first time, an effort is being
made to bring Asia-pacific countries
under one umbrella. The idea was seeded through bilateral meetings between NGTC
and GII, and is progressively evolving. This meeting consists of three sessions and each session begins with a
lead invited talk followed by panel discussion. The topics of lead talks in the
three session are 1. Challenges of Interntional Trade, 2. Uniform rules and
International Jewellery Industry and 3. Prospects for International
standardisation in Asia-pacific and China. Besides, panelists will cover
various areas that are of current concern like trade discipline, consumer
confidence, technical barriers to trade, laboratory standards, gemological
research, harmonisation of protocols, protection of consumer interest and specific measures, in
the three sessions. Shri Bakul R Mehta,
Chairman. GII will present his views on “The challenges of international
Jewellery Trade”as an invited speaker In the first session . Dr. M.D. Sastry and Dr. A.V.R. Reddy of GII
are invited experts to express views in various panel discussions.

Testing and screening in high demand at GSI’s new Hong

Gem & Pearl Show from 26 February to 2 March 2019 at the AsiaWorld-Expo, and the 36th Hong Kong International Jewellery Show from 28 February to 4 March 2019 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The twin
shows anticipate a total of more than 4,550 exhibitors across the globe, forming the world’s largest jewellery marketplace for traders to tap into global markets. In 2018, the
shows attracted about 87,000 leading buyers from 145 countries and regions.
