Antwerp: A delegation of ALROSA headed by the company’s President Sergey Ivanov is on a working visit to Antwerp, the diamond capital of Belgium. The announcement came in a press release distributed by ALROSA’s press service on Tuesday.
Sergey Ivanov visited the Antwerp World Diamond Center (AWDC), where he conducted negotiations regarding further development of bilateral cooperation between ALROSA and AWDC. Both sides also discussed the possibility of ALROSA's participation in the events dedicated to the celebration of the 570th anniversary of the Antwerp diamond trade slated for 2017-2018. Sergey Ivanov also met with the top management of Beurs Voor Diamanthandel.
During the trip, Sergey Ivanov will also visit the Diamond Office, Belgium’s customs service processing all the country’s export and import transactions involving rough and polished diamonds.
Belgium is one of the key trade and industry partners of ALROSA and one of the world's largest diamond trading centers. In 2013, ALROSA and AWDC, representing the interests of the Belgian diamond business, entered into a cooperation agreement. The agreement, in particular, provides for the promotion of diamond trade, interaction on the Kimberley Process, the implementation of educational programs and the exchange of information.
