Paola De Luca’s Seminar at CARAT+

Antwerp: Paola De Luca, widely recognized as the world's leading expert on jewellery design and jewellery trends, will be conducting a seminar for participants at the premiere edition of the CARAT+ diamond and diamond jewellery show in Antwerp on 8 May.

The seminar, which is entitled "The Future of Diamonds: How Social Changes and the New Consumers are Impacting the Diamond Sector," will take place on 11:00 AM on Monday, 8 May, the second day of the three-day show (7-8-9 May, 2017), at the Antwerp Expo. Her presentation is open to all exhibitors and registered buyers and visitors.

Ms. De Luca is the founder and Creative Director of The Futurist Ltd., which is a trend-forecasting and creative intelligence firm specialising in strategic projects in the luxury and jewellery sectors. In partnership with Italy's Italian Exhibition Group (formerly Fiera di Vicenza) Vicenza Fair, the organiser of VIZENZAORO, one of the world's leading international jewellery trade fair brands, in 2012 she co-founded TRENDVISION Jewellery + Forecasting, an independent observatory focusing on trend forecasting for the jewellery industry.

She began career in New York, landing her first job as a designer for Fendi Jewellery and Watches. She later collaborated with leading luxury brands, such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Harry Winston and Swarovski. In 2002, in partnership with the CRU Group of London, she established the TJF Group Ltd., which for a decade focused on research and forecasting for the jewellery industry, launching the unique "TJF Trend book," which became the world's first and most authoritative jewellery trends publication. In 2010 she began a collaboration with Rio Tinto Diamonds as Design Director of its global program.

"Paola De Luca, with her remarkable insight and wealth of experience of the fashion-end of the diamond industry exemplifies the broad perspective we seek to achieve at CARAT+," said Filip Van Laere, the show's Event Director. "We want to offer a podium to strong and independent opinion makers who can bring understanding, inspiration and indicate new directions for the diamond business at large. Paola certainly qualifies in all of these respects, and I am sure that she will set a high bar for future inspirational speakers at CARAT+."

Covering the full spectrum of the diamond and diamond jewellery trades, CARAT+ will feature four sectors, namely loose diamonds, branded diamond jewellery, non-branded diamond jewellery, and services for the diamond and diamond jewellery industry. Taking place in Hall 1 and Hall 4 of the Antwerp Expo, entry to the show be restricted exclusively to industry professionals, including diamond and jewellery wholesalers and manufacturers from around the world, and jewellery retailers predominantly from Europe.
