Diamond doyen Arun Mehta passes away!

Diamond Industry & trade tycoon Arunkumar Ramniklal Mehta born in January 1940 passed away on June 14 in Mumbai. A man of inspiration lived up his life as ‘a simple living & sparkling thinking’ throughout the life! One of the mammoth personalities Arunbhai earned much of respect & honour than what he earned from his business in the life!

 

Throughout his life he inspired numbers of new entrant diamantaires by facilitating adequate guidance! In general he insists upon to go for needed diamond education, manage proper capital upon commencement and to develop a leadership quality to lead a team! These were the brilliant guidance for new entrant! He was convinced that, established diamantaire must provide a space for new generation that may add more sparkle in the business India!

 

At the right time Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) honoured his with his Summit Award, ‘Life-time Achievement Award’. Earlier Arunbhai had served led remarkably this GJEPC for about two decades, even by remaining a member of Managing Committee! In his serving diamond industry & trade he has founded Diamond Exporters Association Ltd and remained vice-president too! He was instrumental & one of the key players in the board of Bharat Diamond Bourse.

 

Apart from diamond institutions & associations he also remained concomitant with several educational, healthcare & charitable activities! He established, Rajmal Rikhabchand Charitable Trust for CSR & on the other hand he nourished MDMA! Despite managing a global diamond business from Mumbai he remained linked with his root. He served for a long his birth place association, Palanpur Samaj Kendra.

 

He dared diamond business by buying a one diamond and sold in a less than a 10% of profit in 1958 just after the gaining adequate training for diamond business! With this sales instinct he ventured as a co-founder and commenced, B. Arunkumar & Co in 1960 in the city of Mumbai! And he created a huge diamond business empire! Much known Rosy Blue also remained with his senior directorship! What he said, to provide a room for new generation, he did & followed his words! He left all his active participation from business & from social & charitable associations in 1985!

 

Arunbhai kept Mehta family together with his two brothers, Harshad Mehta & Dilip Mehta with their sister! His Son Russell Mehta is managing Rosy Blue India!

 

Much needed generic diamond promotion campaign was backed by him strongly, he welcome the formation of Diamond Producers Association (DPA) and inaugurated the DPA as a Chief Guest! In his inspiring key note delivery he said, “We have to bring back the lost glory of our industry!”

 

“Since JNI was observing his health. Yesterday, my media colleague informed me in the evening, I searched for the authentication and get confirmed the shocking reality! Immediately I informed my other associated media organisation by 8:50pm on June 14, 2020! Also informed to my other related media peers” said Nayan Jani, Editor-JNI. In his immediate tribute note Nayan Jani said, “A great friend, philosopher & guide of our diamond industry India, who added a great spark in the globe! A great loss to our diamond industry India & remarkable vacant in the global space! He observed a simple living & sparkling thinking!”
