India stares gold WorldSkills

India endeavours to bag gold at 45th WorldSkills Competition is scheduled to be held at Kazan on 22 - 27 August 2019. It is likely to witness about 1,300 young professionals who will compete in over 56 skills from over 70 countries including India.

 

Chairman of GJSCI Sanjay Kothari said, in past India has won medallion & silver medal yet not attained any gold! This time we endeavours to edge up our representatives with cutting edge training to bag the gold at Kazan, Russia.

 

The event will be held at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre where more than 1,300 Experts will evaluate the Competitors’ work. Every two years WorldSkills hosts the world championships of skills which attracts young people of under 23 from all corners of the globe gather together for the chance to win a prestigious medal in their chosen skill.

 

Competitors will demonstrate the level of their vocational education and training. Skills are grouped into six sectors. GJSCI would participate in Jewellery under, Creative Arts and Fashion Sector where sub competitions are of, 1: 3D Digital Game Art, 2: Fashion Technology, 3: Floristry, 4: Graphic Design Technology, 5: Jewellery & 6: Visual Merchandising.

 

Medal categories are to compete for gold, silver and bronze medals, in over 50 skills. India has been participating in the gems & jewellery section of the WorldSkills competition since 2011. In the year 2011 Prosenjit Tari had represented India had ranked 17, Bhavesh Chandra Jana stood 8th in 2013, Surajit Rana improved & attained 7th Rank in 2015 yet again India slide to 8th Rank in 2017 when Asrof Jamal had represented GJSCI.

 

Sanjay Kothari said we have engaged Brazilian experts to undertake & guide our representative to perform well. Training is on and by reaching at significant level of training the GJSCI may call media for announcement further in February 2019.
