New board members elected for AJA!

AJA General Assembly was held in the Association’s headquarters in MERIDIAN Expo center. The meeting was attended by AJA members, representatives of jewelry industry from different countries. AJA chapters’ boards worldwide offered candidacies from their Board members to be elected to AJA International Board.

 

The newly elected Board proceeded to AJA Executive Board elections. The following members were elected unanimously: President: Krikor Yessayan (Lebanon), Vice-President: Aris Demir (Istanbul), Vice-President: Leon Haytayan (AJA West Coast USA), Vice-President: Zohrab Istanboulian (Thailand), Treasurer: Anna Vardanyan (Armenia) & Secretary: Ruben Kotanchyan (Russia).

 

In his speech, the newly elected President Krikor  Yessayan thanked the Board members for their loyalty and noted that the activities of the new AJA Board in the upcoming years will be aimed at consolidating the Armenian jewelry community and strengthening ties between the Association members from different countries, which will contribute to AJA`s further development.

 

AJA Vice-President Aris Demir highlighted the importance of annual International Yerevan Show in homeland and informed that the preparation of the upcoming exhibition will be broader, including formation of a special working group. This proposal was accepted with unanimous approval of those present.

 

During the meeting Simon Kalfayan, Sergey Sahakyan, Anna Vardanyan, Ani Ahian and others also took the floor. In their speech, they stressed the growing role of AJA in the life of Armenian jewelers, expressing special thanks for moving the AJA headquarters from Switzerland to their Motherland - Armenia, which will undoubtedly give the Association a new breath.
