Alrosa committed to supply only mined diamonds!

 

Second Edition of Bharat Diamond Week (BDW) inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Andrei Zhiltsov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Mumbai with the Guest of Honour, Hon’ble Evgeny Agureev, Director, United Selling Organisation, PJSC-Alrosa, Anoop V Mehta, President-BDB, Mehul Shah, Vice-President, BDB, members of the BDB managing board and amid invitees & diamond fraternity!

 

In his welcome speech Anoop V Mehta said, Alrosa is the biggest mining player & BDB is the biggest center of diamond manufacturing! In the row he said ahead that, “Alrosa to increase their rough viewing in India.” He also announced the edition next of BDW 2019 schedule & that to be held during the April 1 to 3 and October 14 to 16.

 

At the occasion Evgeny Agureev said, Alrosa sales about 52% of its’ total to India. Alrosa is committed to supply only natural diamonds! In the key note speech Andrei Zhiltsov referred the meeting of prime Minister India & Russian President. By referring Narendra Modi & Vladimir Putin, Andrei said, we are not only in supplying diamonds but also we have larger cooperation between both of the nations! He said: “We are made for each other!”

 

During the precise delivery he referred Alrosa Mumbai Office, KGK Groups activities in Russia & also invited other diamantaires to start diamond manufacturing like KGK in Russia.

 

In his thanking note Mehul Shah said, “Diamond industry India is looking forward to a stronger tie with Alrosa” he cited the line of Anoop Mehta.  Mehul Shah said BDW is supporting MSMEs. There are about 90% of the exhibitors who could not participate in any of the international jewellery expo.

 

Mehul Shah also said: “Lower segment of the industry is facing lot of challenges. They do not get bank finance, they struggles to bag full price of their diamonds and it is difficult for such segment to source rough diamond adequately!

 

Our achievements come with uplifting the lower segment of the diamond industry. Our Managing Committee is committed to strengthen the SMEs in BDB.”

 

The 2nd edition is likely to witness several trade delegation & leaders with trade visitors from India and abroad. On the very first, inaugural day Atul Jogani, who has led several gem-n-jewellery delegations for Thailand to India, attended the 2nd edition of BDW & he is leading about 20 Thai players’ delegation for the first hand sourcing! He is fascinated with the BDW objectives & endeavour to promote-n-support MSMEs.

 

At the occasion he said, there is a good business sentiment in Thailand. My team is full of young & MSMEs. This is really a good step of BDB at BDW to promote MSMEs & SMEs.
