Alrosa put 163 rough diamonds for the auction

Alrosa, the largest diamond mining company in the world, is auctioning special size rough diamonds (over 10.8 carats) in Hong Kong, including fancy colour stones.

The company put 163 gem-quality rough diamonds with total weight of 2,615 carats for the auction, which started on September 3. The assortment includes 26 rough diamonds of fancy yellow colours.

77 companies from Russia, Belgium, Hong Kong, Israel, India, China and the UAE are invited to participate in the auction. On September 12-16, Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair will take place, and the company plans to display the auctioned diamonds for visitors of the fair. The results of the auction will be summed up on September 20.

“The timing of our September auction intersects with one of the largest jewellery exhibition, which annually attracts tens of thousands visitors from all over the world. We invited about 80 companies to participate in the auction, but this list can be expanded, since we will exhibit our diamonds at the fair. This is a good opportunity to attract new customers," Evgeny Agureev, the Member of the Executive committee, Director of the United Selling Organization of Alrosa, said.

Since the beginning of the year, Alrosa held two auctions in Hong Kong and sold large diamonds for a total amount of about $25 million.
