IIJS breaks several past records!

IIJS 2018 Concludes & reaches to a new scale!

Update 2: India International Jewellery Show (IIJS), the 35th Edition breaks several past records & sets new bench mark! During the August 9 & up to August 13, 2018 the show hosted about 40K & 5K at the IIJS Pre Show on August 8 at, Bombay Exhibition Centre, Hotel Leela & Hotel Lalit, Mumbai.

In general the show witnesses about 8 to 10 new launches while the IIJS 2018 witnessed about 30 new launches of jewellery collection at Prime Show area (Hall 1, 5, 6 & 7) & of allied section’s new launches at Hall 2! Every player had invited their patrons & guests, invited their valued clientele & stockists for the launching event in the arena.

Apart from numbers of positive fundamentals & business sentiment, Youth India has vibrated the show by learning the tumbled gold price at 10 years low & government’s statement about Kharif Crops! Visitors & buyers especially youth players & MSMEs open up their purchase list to cater all those auspicious festivals & jewellery season ahead until Diwali & Christmas and up to New Year!

Exhibitors also had showcased proper product mix & a range! Showcase glittered with bridal & chunky ware, new crafts-n-curves & lightweight and up to fusion range! Endeavour of exhibitors that they were ready to note every inquiry, ready to cater every demand & ready to work on every contact!

All together with Youth India players & 40K visitors the concluded IIJS 2018 proved once again as a great place to source the proper product mix for the season ahead! Now it is the key feature of the IIJS! At the jewellery section lightweight jewellery trend had stolen away the dome and it pushed up the growth of 40% over the previous IIJS 2017. MSMEs played well at jewellery & allied as well as at machinery-n-tools sections!

One the key notable area is Hall 7. Exporters and MSME centric IIJS introducing pillar less Hall 7, spread in 10800 sq mts attained a great success & remained most vibrant! According to Shailesh Sangani, Convener, Exhibition National-GJEPC, “At IIJS, every year we try to give our traders and visitors a better experience. By introducing Hall 7 we have facilitated 800 new booths for the ease of the public and buyers on a large scale.”

After a silence of three years diamantaires said the IIJS remained good & season ahead looks fine! Diamantaires were also happy to note a vibrant jewellery section because, right with the diamond jewellery booking, a demand for new diamond creates! End of the day it is also a gain for diamond traders too! And additionally they noted good inquiry!

Diamantaires run hard to ensure their diamond’s spark! Even in the last year, 2016 & 2017 they have not casted any statement at the IIJS concluding eve and this year too! Yet they found at satisfactory level. Another key reason was different delegations, especially the delegation of Australia & Ireland!

Jeremy Keight of Jewellery World had attended IIJS 2018 with delegation of over 20 key players & they were ready to source diamonds of various size, shape & colours! Probably the mission of Australian-Ireland delegation remained success!

GJEPC’s flagship show IIJS 2018 held at three venues, witnessed altogether over 1300 exhibitors, about 2500 showcases that hosted visitors from about 800 cities, towns, pan India and gem-n-jewellery players from  about 80 countries. In his concluding statement Sailesh Sanghani said, like various sections, Silver Jewellery Manufacturers are also demanding to set up a separate pavilion in the IIJS! No doubt Silver jewellery is growing segment. (Exclusively inked & edited by Nayan Jani, veteran gem-n-jewellery media player, Mumbai)
