Sierra Leone terminates 40 mineral rights

Recently the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources and the National Minerals Agency (NMA), Sierra Leone hereby inform the general public that as part of ongoing efforts to transform the Minerals Sectors, the Agency is clamping down on illegal Miners and Mineral Right Holders who have not been meeting their financial and other obligations to Government.

 

Consequent upon the above, the NMA hereby informs the public that, consistent with the provision of Section 53 of the Mines and Minerals Act of 2009, the Minister of Mines and Minerals Resources has cancelled the licence of the 40 Companies  with immediate effect.

 

The general public is advised to contact the NMA at New England Ville in Freetown for further information. De facto the NMA has provided the list of 40 companies.
