IIGJ Mumbai qualify for national round

Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) Mumbai is extremely proud of our degree students spectacular performance at India skills competition held at Bangalore from 21st to 23rd June, 2018. We are glad to inform that Ms Ruchita Wagh the degree student of IIGJ Mumbai has won the regional round of the India skills competition held at Bangalore.

 

Mr. Sangramsingh rajput also the degree student of indian institute of gems & jewellery (IIGJ) Mumbai was the first runner up in the competition. They both will now compete in the India skills, a National Level Competition later this year.

Three winners from India Skills Competition will undergo an intensive training program for one year. One of the candidates will represent India at World Skills, 2019 (Kazan, Russia).

 

Seven candidates from IIGJ Mumbai were shortlisted from India Skills Screening Track 2 and one candidate was from Andhra Pradesh. Track 1 had appeared for the regional level competition in Bengaluru, which was scheduled from 21st to 23rd June, 2018.

 

It was a three day competition in which candidates were expected to make a jewellery piece crafted out silver metal as per the test project of Design Specification Sheet shared with them. The time limit for the project was 12 hours.

 

Hon. Minister of Skill development and Entrepreneurship, Shri. Anant Kumar Hegde and Shri. Rajesh Agarwal, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship were the Chief Guests for the Event.
