Amreli CFC inaugurated!

The Common Facility Centre for diamond

cutting and polishing at Amreli, Gujarat

 

According to the sources, Commerce and industries minister Suresh Prabhu of  additional charge of the civil aviation ministry opened up the Common Facility Centre (CFC) for diamond cutting and polishing at Amreli, Gujarat in the presence of artisans, Pramod Agarwal, Chairman-GJEPC, Dinesh Navadia, GJEPC Regional Chairman, Gujarat, Manoj Dwivedi, JS, MoC&I, Shri Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, officials & industry fraternity.

 

According to the plan, GJEPC is closely working with the government for Setting up of 4 Common Facility Centres (CFCs) in Ahmedabad, Amreli, Visnagar and Palanpur for diamond cutting & polishing. It has been approved by the Government at a cost of INR 16.15 crore.

 

The Centres will provide access to common pool of state of the art machinery/equipment at a reasonable rate for individual small & medium diamond manufacturer, which will improve the quality, productivity and yield of the finished diamonds.

 

CFCs will also be served as a platform for technology transfer and re-skilling of the existing artisans by providing them training on diamond grading aspect. A total of 200 small & medium diamond manufacturer will get access to the facility.

 

Earlier in the in the 2017, de facto, the first ever common facility centre inaugurated at Visnagar & now Amreli is being inaugurated, rest are following. During the inaugural of Visnagar CFC office bearers of Amreli, Palanpur, Ahmedabad and Botad diamond association and trade members from local diamond industry had been attended to learn for their CFCs.
