Mouawad showcases the kimberley star

At Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) 2018, during February 21 to 26, the beauty of a gemstone and its fascinating history that granted it its irresistible allure. From the same South-African city that granted the world some of its legendary diamonds emerges yet another marvel: The Kimberley Star - a one-of-a-kind 111.11-carat modified pear brilliant diamond that radiates with a fancy vivid yellow color as pure as sunlight.

Formed over millions of years under the earth's surface, The Kimberley Star was found in June 2016 in its rough state - at 165.65 carat - in an alluvial deposit in the Vaal River, on a farm that lies about 40 kilometers from Kimberley, South Africa.

Intricately cut and polished into the current wonder that it is, The Kimberley Star was deemed the largest fancy vivid yellow diamond of its shape that the Gemological Institute of America has studied to date - setting an unassailable standard in the history of diamonds. Mouawad showcased at the DJWE.
