New Jewellery Award being Launched

Munich: The Inhorgenta Munich trade fair announced it is launching the Inhorgenta Award at its next show which runs from February 18 to 21.
It will be awarded in recognition of special products and services in the jewelry and watch industry. There will be six categories: Fine Jewelry – Brand of the Year, Fashion Jewelry – Brand of the Year, Designer of the Year, Watch Design of the Year, Retailer of the Year and Best Piece of Jewelry. Show organizers said that non-participants in the fair can also take part in the contest.

The independent jury includes fashion designer Michael Michalsky, a judge on Germany's version of the Next Top Model TV show. Other jury members are models Franziska Knuppe and Shermine Shahrivar, as well as Anja Heiden (Managing Director of Wempe) and Professor Christine Lüdeke (Head of the Faculty of Design, Pforzheim University).

Participants can file applications via Inhorgenta website. The presentation ceremony will be on February 19 within the framework of an exclusive gala event at the Postpalast – one of Munich's most exceptional buildings.

Last year, 940 exhibitors from 33 countries and some 26,000 trade visitors from 75 countries visited the fair.
Another innovation is the new Gemstone Forum with top-level lectures from the world of precious stones, along with jewelry shows, the Web Campus and the International Pearl Symposium.
