Jewellery Trade Fair CARAT+ Begins

Antwerp: CARAT+, the newest addition to the jewellery trade fair circuit and the only international show dedicated exclusively to diamonds, diamond jewellery and diamond-related services, kicked off yesterday at Antwerp Expo, the main exhibition ground in the Belgian diamond capital. Traffic on the exhibition floor was brisk, with buyers flocking from both Europe and across the globe, with exhibitors from eight different countries.

It was an evening of glitz, glamour and celebrity, as Antwerp turned out in its finest to celebrate the official opening of the CARAT+. Inside the Antwerp Expo, guests swayed to the sound of saxophones, while a group of artists put the finishing touches to a giant mural, which was split up and distributed at the end of the evening.

The highlight of the night was the entrance of Caterina Murino, star of the 2006 spy thriller Casino Royale and a member of the exclusive Bond Girls club.
