Kumar Agrawal, current Chairman of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion
Council (GJEPC), has become the first member of the Indian industry to be
elected one of the three Vice Presidents of CIBJO, the World Jewellery
Confederation. He was nominated by CIBJO President Gaetano Cavalieri, and the
decision was confirmed by the organisation’s General Assembly and Board of
Directors, meeting in Bahrain, November 18-20, at the 2019 CIBJO Congress.
BOD focuses additional opportunities in Zim!
By
providing an update about its proposed diamond exploration and development
activities in Zimbabwe, Botswana Diamond (BOD) said, BOD and VAST Resources
have agreed the terms of a new agreement in respect of their proposed joint
venture in the Chiadzwa or say Marange area of Zimbabwe.
As
previously announced in October 2018, Botswana Diamonds concluded an agreement
with Vast for the development of Vast’s Heritage concessions in the Marange
Diamond Fields (the “Heritage Concession Agreement”), and that a separate
agreement would cover the joint development of diamond properties outside of
the Marange Diamond Fields.

total number of Participants in the Kimberley Process (KP) now stands at 55
representing 82 countries (including the 28 member states of the European
Union, which participates as a single Participant represented by the European
Commission).

Diamcor tendered more rough in Q3
Diamcor
Mining announces the results of its second tender and sale in the Company’s
third fiscal quarter ending December 31, 2019.
In the second tender, the Company sold 6,055.28 carats of rough
diamonds, which generated total gross proceeds of USD $693,401.94, resulting in
an average price of USD $114.51 per carat.
This
brings the total rough diamonds delivered and tendered thus far in the
Company’s third fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2019 to 10,088.29 carats,
which have generated total gross proceeds to date in the quarter of USD
$1,117,474.38, resulting in an average price of USD $110.77 per carat.
