Beatrice Shipley Scholarship awarded

GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and AGS (American Gem Society) have awarded the Beatrice Shipley Scholarship, named in honor of Mrs Shipley for her many contributions to both organizations, to fifth-generation jeweler Madelaine Genna from central Florida. The scholarship provides tuition for Genna to complete the GIA Graduate Gemologist program on-campus, the AGS Way Course and to attend the 2020 AGS Conclave in Denver, CO.

Pre-sale of Roger Federer silver coin closed

The pre-sale quantity of 33,000 pieces of the Roger Federer silver coin is sold out. The coins are no longer available on the web shop. On the day of issue of 23 January, a remaining quantity of 22,000 pieces and higher quality coins will be put on sale.

A further 40,000 Roger Federer silver coins will be issued in May 2020. Initially Swiss mint had announced commemorative coin in honour of Roger Federer. For the first time in its history, Swiss mint is dedicating a Swiss commemorative coin to a living person: Roger Federer.

Forevermark enters Belgium today

New partnership with Gautam Diamonds will see Forevermark jewellery available in the heart of Brussels and at the airport. Forevermark, the diamond brand from De Beers Group, announced it will launch in five jewellery stores in Belgium through a partnership with Gautam Diamonds.

Forevermark jewellery will be available in Gautam stores in the historic Grand Place/Grote Markt and Galerie de la Reine/Koninginnegalerij in the city, as well as in three Antwerp Diamonds by Gautam stores in Brussels Airport.

Q3 up at Tiffany worldwide sales

Tiffany & Co reported its financial results for the three months, 3Q and 9M-YtD ended October 31, 2019. Worldwide net sales for the third quarter were unchanged from the prior year and decreased 2% in the year-to-date period.

On a constant-exchange-rate basis, which excludes the effect of translating foreign-currency-denominated sales into U.S. dollars, worldwide net sales for the third quarter were 1% above the prior year and unchanged in the year-to-date period.

Signet eCommerce remains vibrant in 3Q

Signet Jewelers Limited, the world's largest retailer of diamond jewelry, announced its results for the 13 weeks ended November 2, 2019 that is 3Q FY 2020. According to the report, same store sales (SSS) remained up by 2.1%. Net cash provided by operating activities of $113.5 million year to date and free cash flow of $18.2 million year to date.

According to the Fiscal 2020 Guidance, Fiscal 2020 same store sales down 1.7% to down 1.0% and total sales of $6.01 billion, compared with previous of $6.05 billion. Fiscal 2020 GAAP operating income of $147 - $167 million and non-GAAP operating income of $270 - $280 million. Fiscal 2020 GAAP diluted EPS of $1.21 - $1.52 and non-GAAP diluted EPS of $3.11 - $3.292.

About 5.70 Lakh Micro Enterprises Assisted under PMEGP upto 31st October, 2019 said, Ministry of MSME-is implementing Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), which is a major credit-linked subsidy programme aimed at generating self-employment opportunities through establishment of micro-enterprises in the non-farm sector.

By helping traditional artisans and rural/urban unemployed youth under the scheme, beneficiary can avail loan up to Rs. 25 lakh in the manufacturing sector and Rs. 10 lakh in the service sector, with the subsidy of 15% to 35% for different categories.
