Endeavour Silver Produces over 4mn oz Silver
Endeavour
Silver reports production of 4.0 million silver ounces (oz) and 38,907 gold oz
in 2019, for silver equivalent production of 7.1 million oz at 80:1 silver: gold
ratio. Silver production in the Fourth Quarter, 2019 was 939,511 oz and gold
production was 9,578 oz, for silver equivalent production of 1.7 million oz.
Silver
and gold production was lower in Q4, 2019 compared to Q4, 2018 due to the
suspension of mining operations at the El Cubo mine during the quarter and
lower throughput and grades at Bolanitos, partly offset by higher production at
Guanacevi and new production at El Compas.
The Company withdrew its revised guidance in Q4, 2019, silver production
missed the low range of revised guidance by 4% and gold production missed the
low range of revised 2019 production guidance by 2%.

Recently
The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) has casted their budget
recommendations proposal for the budgetary process FY 2020- 2021. GJEPC
attempted to attain the effective Ease of Doing Business to reach the focussed
export target of US$75bn.
What truly saddened me…
Recently
Leibish Polnauer, President-Leibish & Co expressed out his view on the back
of his contribution in the diamond industry for over 40 years, specializing in
fancy color diamonds and rare gemstones. He inks, I recently had an interesting
conversation with a diamond manufacturer in India who I have known for many
years. His factory currently has around 100 employees and he is known to cut a
nice stone-many of which I have bought in the past.
Kirkland Lake Gold production over 231K Oz in Q4
Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd announced record
production for the fourth quarter (Q4 2019) and full-year (FY 2019) 2019.
Production in Q4 2019 totaled 279,742 ounces, an increase of 21% from 231,217
ounces for the same Q4 2018, with the increase driven by record quarterly
production at the Fosterville Mine of 191,893 ounces.
For FY 2019, consolidated production totaled
974,615 ounces, 35% higher than 723,701 for full-year 2018 (“FY 2018”). FY 2019
production at Fosterville of 619,366 ounces beat the mine’s FY 2019 guidance of
570,000 – 610,000 ounces. Production at Macassa Mine in FY 2019 totaled 241,297
ounces, in line with FY 2019 guidance of 240,000 – 250,000 ounces. All dollar
amounts are expressed in U.S. dollars, unless otherwise noted.
US retailers welcome trade deal with China
The
National Retail Federation, USA welcomed the signing of a phase one trade
agreement between the United States and China but said work remains to be done
to end the trade war between the two countries.
“NRF
strongly supports the administration’s efforts to address China’s unfair
trading practices but we hope this is the first step toward eliminating all of
the tariffs imposed over the past two years,” NRF President and CEO Matthew
Shay said. “The trade war won’t be over until all of these tariffs are gone. We
are glad to see the phase one deal signed, and resolution of phase two can’t
come soon enough.”
A strong international trade mission to Surat
The Rapaport Trade Mission to Surat, India
attracted a strong group of international diamantaires and jewelers from the
US, Belgium, Botswana, Australia, South Africa, Switzerland, and China. The
mission provided participants an unprecedented opportunity to meet and interact
with local diamond cutters, dealers and market makers in the world’s largest
diamond cutting center.
The Mission created an educational experience
with visits to high-tech factories in Surat and the Mahidharpura Street market.
Participants had an opportunity to directly interact with Surat’s large
community of small to medium size cutters and dealers. The participants
improved their knowledge of the diamond industry and understanding of the rough
to polished pipeline. Significant emphasis was placed on developing
relationships with small and medium size cutters and dealers.

Marquis to recognize the exceptional leadership of retail executives and to
support the next generation of industry talent. The event raised more than $4
million to fund the Foundation’s programs, including educational initiatives,
student scholarships and RISE Up, a powerful, industry-backed credentialing
program.
