to celebrity stylist Micaela Erlanger who selected platinum jewelry for
Presenter Sigourney Weaver “For a night as glamorous as the Oscars, I chose
brilliant jewelry with megawatt sparkle. Sigourney Weaver’s earrings set in
platinum added extra shine making the star stand out on the red carpet, similar

Focus tier 2 & 3 cities more!
Small
towns are the foundation of New India, says Prime Minister said in his reply to
the motion of thanks on the President's Address.
.
Prime
Minister said that the aim of $ 5 trillion economy is ambitious but we have to think

Extends solar power use!
Alrosa's
Mirny Road Maintenance Division extends the use of solar power by installing
hybrid stand-alone stations at its remote posts. This will help to decrease
costs and environmental impact while also improving the power supply of the
facilities.
The
company replaces conventional diesel power stations to reduce financial and
environmental costs. Two hybrid power stations costing 3.7 million rubles each
were shipped to Mirny in January.
Alrosa’s
main operations are concentrated in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in Far
Eastern Russia. Winters are long and summers are short there. However, this
region is relatively sunny. For cities of Yakutia, the average annual amount of
sunshine lies in the range of 1,700-2,000 hours.
Market cautious amid China concerns!
Diamond
market sentiment was positive for most of January but weakened as the outbreak
of the coronavirus in China resulted in a shutdown of retail stores over the
important Chinese New Year period.
Prices
were supported by shortages, particularly of 0.30- to 0.49-carat, D-F, IF-VVS2
goods, with inventory of fine-cut RapSpec A3+ diamonds declining.
Collection-quality diamonds above 3 carats (D-E, IF-VVS2) remained weak. The
RapNet Diamond Index (RAPI) for 1-carat diamonds slid 0.4% in January, while
the 0.30-carat index rose 4.1%.
Far
East demand turned sluggish toward the end of January due to uncertainty
surrounding the coronavirus and the ongoing protests in Hong Kong. Travel
restrictions are likely to affect global trading, while weak jewelry sales over
the January 25 lunar festival will impact first-quarter inventory replacement.
Element Six expressed satisfaction on conclusion!
Element
Six today expressed satisfaction at the successful conclusion of its patent
infringement action against IIa Technologies in Singapore. IIa Technologies was
found by The High Court of Singapore to have infringed an Element Six patent
for proprietary synthetic diamond products and their method of manufacture
(Singapore patent number 115872).
The
patent in question relates to the production of material which is desirable
both for use in laboratory-grown diamond jewellery, and in optical applications
such as infrared spectroscopy and high-power laser optics.
Regulation of Online Retailers!
Considering
the potential of e-Commerce, Government of India plans to encourage it to
contribute towards India’s proposed USD 1 trillion digital economy. However,
e-Commerce companies having foreign investment can operate only a marketplace
model and there are restrictions on the inventory based model of e-Commerce.
In
order to clarify the same, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal
Trade (DPIIT), vide Press Note 3 of 2016, issued guidelines for FDI in
e-Commerce on 29 March 2016. However, allegations were made against e-Commerce
companies that the marketplaces were violating the norms laid down in Press
Note 3 of 2016.
