Leibish & Co talks, A Canary Bird
Leibish
& Co talks about known canary bird, the yellow! The most popular color
within the realms of fancy color diamonds are yellows. Nearly half of the rings
that we sell in the United States and worldwide are yellow, some being light
yellow while others are fancy yellow.
Intense
and vivid yellow diamonds are often referred to as canary diamonds, as the
color saturation when faced upwards reflects the feathers of the distinguished
canary bird. Although canary is not the scientific term given to these stones,
the color marker often refers to the stones as canary.

Anatomist Richard Owen was the first to realise that the remains of three
creatures discovered in England – Megalosaurus, Iguanodon and Hylaeosaurus –
shared common characteristics. He named this new group of animals ‘Dinosauria’
in a paper published in 1842, sparking a fascination with these creatures that
continues to the present day.
