Loan to purchase Alrosa rough

International diamond manufacturer Dali Diamond, one of Alrosa’s long-term clients, signed a loan agreement with Eximbank of Russia (part of the Russian Export Center Group) for the financing of rough diamond purchases from Alrosa. Dali Diamond successfully started to use the loan funds during the January trading session of Alrosa.

The loan agreement between Eximbank of Russia and Dali Diamond provides for a 24-month revolving credit line in euros. The terms of financing are among the best in the industry today – both with regard to rates and deferred payments to the bank. Exiar is in charge of risk insurance under the agreement.

WDC invites to review new SoW Toolkit

The World Diamond Council (WDC) is encouraging stakeholders to review the WDC System of Warranties (SoW) Toolkit. This follows its unanimous adoption as a working draft by the WDC Board of Directors and its review by WDC members.

The SoW Toolkit, which once released will be made available online at no cost to the industry, is designed to assist members of the diamond trade comply with the revised WDC SoW that was approved in 2018 and is scheduled to be phased in over a five-year period.

United States Mint (Mint) Director David J. Ryder hosted members and supporters of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame at a ceremonial striking of the 2020 Basketball Hall of Fame Silver Dollar Coin.

During his remarks, Director Ryder stated that “every day, across the Nation, the United States Mint connects Americans through coins, and it is our great privilege to connect America to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.” Ryder went on to announce that “the most unique feature of these coins is that they will be the first-ever colorized coins produced by the United States Mint! Coins with proof and uncirculated finishes will go on sale April 4th, and the colorized versions of the silver and clad coins will go on sale at a later date.”

Waterberg Funding for Impala Platinum's Purchase

Platinum Group Metals Ltd. and Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd. announces that the shareholders of Waterberg JV Resources Proprietary Limited have agreed to amend the terms of the Implats Purchase and Development Option, which was due to be exercised on April 17, 2020 following the Waterberg JV Co.'s approval of the 2019 Definitive Feasibility Study.

In consideration for this amendment, Implats has agreed to fund 100% of a new implementation budget and work programme effective February 1, 2020. The programme, which has been approved by Waterberg JV Co., will be aimed at increasing confidence in specific areas of the DFS while awaiting the expected grant of a Mining Right and Environmental Authorization and is estimated to cost approximately US$4 million. This amount will be offset against Implats' future development funding commitment should it elect to exercise the Purchase and Development Option.
