The wonders of Van Cleef & Arpels
The
exhibition "Van Cleef & Arpels: Time, Nature, Love" has closed at
Palazzo Reale which presented for the first time in Italy the universe of the
Maison of High Jewelry through over 400 jewels, watches and precious objects
created since its foundation in 1906. The exhibition celebrated the unique
ability of the jewels to combine eternity and ephemeral, love and manufacture,
beauty and art.
Divided
into three sections - Time, Nature, Love, the exhibition was conceived taking
inspiration from Italo Calvino's American lessons. Among archival documents,
line drawings and gouache drawings, the origins of artistic creation have been
witnessed by accompanying the precious specimens from the Van Cleef &
Arpels Collection and private loans.
Alrosa offers greater flexibility to long-term customers
Alrosa
takes further action to support long-term customers amid global market
uncertainty, said Alrosa. Since the beginning of this year, Alrosa has been
taking consistent steps to improve trading flexibility. By the start of its
trading session in March, the mandatory amount of rough diamonds required to be
bought had been lowered from 55% to 50%.
In a
stable market environment, for comparison, Alrosa usually sets this at 80%
level, as was the case in 2018. Until mid-2019, it was 70%. Given the current
market developments, the Company has decided that, starting this week, it will
let customers off take 40% of the initially contracted volume and carry the
remaining part over to the end of May 2020.
Flexible tender process for selected Letšeng
Gem
Diamonds announces that the second round of the Letšeng flexible tender sales
process has concluded and raised a further US$6.7 million for a selection of
Letšeng's large, high quality diamonds.
The conclusion of the latest flexible tender sales process sees the
Company achieving an average value of US$1 615 per carat for Q1 2020 (US$ 1 713
per carat in Q4 2019).
The
flexible tender sales process was put in place as a result of the March large
diamond tender being cancelled due to the travel and other Covid19 restrictions
imposed by the Belgian government and the governments of the Company's clients.
The flexible tender sales process will continue during the period of these
restrictions.
No Extension of the Financial Year
There
is a fake new circulating in some section of media that the Financial Year has
been extended. A notification issued by the Government of India on 30th March
2020 with respect to some other amendments done in the Indian Stamp Act is
being misquoted. There is no extension of the Financial Year.
The
Finance ministry said that a notification has been issued by the Department of
Revenue, Ministry of Finance which relates to certain amendments to the Indian
Stamp Act. It pertains to putting in place an efficient mechanism for
collection of Stamp Duty on Security Market Instruments transactions through
Stock Exchanges or Clearing Corporation authorized by Stock Exchanges
Depositories.

revised the, LLP Settlement Scheme, 2020 to provide relief to law abiding
companies and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) in the wake of COVID 19!

pursuance of the Government of India’s efforts to provide relief to law abiding
companies and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) in the wake of COVID 19,
the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), has introduced the, Companies Fresh
Start Scheme, 2020 and revised the, LLP Settlement Scheme, 2020, which is
already in vogue to provide a first of its kind opportunity to both companies
and LLPs to make good any filing related defaults, irrespective of duration of
default, and make a fresh start as a fully compliant entity.

Buffalo Gold Proof Sale on April 9
The
United States Mint (Mint) will begin accepting orders for the 2020 American
Buffalo One Ounce Gold Proof Coin (product code 20EL) on April 9 at noon EDT.
First
issued in 2006, the American Buffalo One Ounce Gold Proof Coin was the first
24-karat gold proof coin ever struck by the Mint and is the collector version
of the official United States Mint American Buffalo One Ounce Gold Bullion
Coin. Designs featured on this coin are based on the 1913 Type I Buffalo nickel
by sculptor James Earle Fraser.
FM attends Extraordinary G20 Virtual Meeting
Union
Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman
participated in the 2nd Extraordinary G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank
Governors (FMCBG) meeting under the Saudi Arabian Presidency today, to discuss
the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the global economy and coordinate efforts in
response to this global challenge.
Finance
Minister appreciated the Saudi Presidency for organizing these meetings which
provide opportunity to all G20 members to not only share their individual
experiences but also to work in better coordination.
De Beers $2.5mn to fight Covid-19
De
Beers Group today announced that it will contribute $2,500,000 across Botswana
and Namibia to aid the response to the Covid-19 crisis.
De
Beers Group is a 50/50 joint venture partner with both Botswana and Namibia in
the recovery and sorting of rough diamonds. Its contribution in both countries
forms part of a larger effort across De Beers Group’s four producing countries
including Canada and South Africa to support governments and communities in the
procurement of medical supplies, logistical support, vulnerability assessment
support plans, food security for vulnerable households, water supply to
communities, community COVID-19 awareness and education, and local clinical
support.
Alrosa fight with Covid-19 in Yakutia

CEO said, he is to support fight with Covid-19 in Yakutia from personal account!
Alrosa CEO Sergey Ivanov reduced his stake in the Company. The proceeds from
the sale, more than RUB 18.5 mn, will be used to counter the spread of Covid-19
infection in Mirny district of Yakutia, where Alrosa operates.
