De Beers Rigs Botswana Sales Contract Negotiations
Gaborone: The De Beers Group has scored a major coup against Diamond Trading Company Botswana (DTCB), rigging the odds against Botswana as the country prepares to re-negotiate the Diamond Sales Agreement which lapses in 2020 and reversing achievements of the De Beers relocation from London to Gaborone.
Dominion Upbeat Despite Sales Decline
Toronto: Dominion Diamond Corporation saw a
21% slump in sales during the fiscal year that ended January 31, with
lower-quality production at its two Canada mines leading to reduced revenue.
Nonetheless, it expressed optimism Wednesday about its prospects for the next
three years, as it continued to undergo a strategic review that might result in
the sale of the company.

Alrosa Sells $554 Million of Rough Diamonds In March
Moscow: Russian diamond miner Alrosa
announced rough sales of $554.2 million in March. Polished diamond sales
amounted to $12.4 million.Total diamond sales in March amounted to
$566.6 million, 1 percent higher than the same period last year.

Lucapa Earns $2.5M from 3rd Rough Sale of 2017
Perth: Australia's Lucapa Diamond Co. has
earned $2.5 million (A$3.3M) from a parcel of 1,919 carats at their third sale
in 2017 of rough diamonds from the Lulo Project in Angola. This represents an
average price of $1,317 (A$1,742) per carat, and brings their total 2017 sales
to $13.2 million at an average price of $2,055 (A$2,696) per carat.
