De Beers Announces Polished Auctions
Gaborone: De Beers Group today announced
its Auction Sales business will pilot the sale of its own polished diamonds
using auctions for the first time. The sale will comprise a wide range of
polished stones manufactured directly from its rough diamonds.
Lucapa Fourth Sale of Year Raises $1.3 Mln
Luanda: Lucapa Diamond Company said its fourth sale for 2017 of alluvial diamonds from the Lulo diamond project in Angola of 1,878 carats sold for $1.3 million with an average price per carat of $695.

for April fell 2% year on year to $1.75 billion, figures from the nation’s Gem

Stornoway Announces 1 Mln Carats Produced at Renard
Toronto: Stornoway Diamond Corporation
today announced the production of one million carats of diamonds at the Renard
Diamond Mine in Quebec. The Canadian miner declared commercial production on
January 1st, 2017, and as of December 31 2016, the company had recorded the
recovery of 448,887 carats from total of 399,162 tons of ore. Full name-plate
capacity of 6,000 tons per day, based on 73% plant utilization, is scheduled to
be achieved by the end of the second quarter. According to their guidance for
2017, they expect diamond sales of 1.8 million carats at ten tender sales in
Antwerp, Belgium.
De Beers Reports $520M Rough Sales in 4th Cycle
Gaborone: De Beers sold rough diamonds with
a provisional value of $520 million in the fourth sales cycle (Global
Sightholder Sales and Auction Sales) of 2017, indicating ongoing strong demand
from the global industry.
