The
United States Mint (Mint) will open sales for the 2018 America the Beautiful
Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin - Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore-product
code 18AJ on February 9 at noon Eastern Time (ET).
Struck
in .999 fine silver at the Philadelphia Mint, the America the Beautiful Five
Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coins are unique in that they measure three inches in
diameter. The designs featured on these coins replicate their America the
Beautiful Quarters® Program Coin counterparts.
Bill to amend PMLA
Government
introduces Bill to amend the Prevention of Money-laundering Act (PMLA), 2002
through Finance Act, 2018. Following amendments have been made in the PMLA, 2002
through Finance Act 2018. The Amendments aim at further enhancing the
effectiveness of the Act, widen its scope and take care of certain procedural
difficulties faced by the Enforcement Directorate in prosecution of PMLA cases.
The major amendments proposed are as follows:
Measures
to enhance effectiveness of PMLA:
1. Amendment in definition of
“proceeds of crime” :The definition of "proceeds of crime" in PMLA
was amended in 2015 to include "property equivalent held within the
country" in case proceeds of crime is taken out or held "outside the
country". The present amendment shall allow to proceed against property
equivalent to proceeds to crime held outside the country also.

The
Economic Survey 2017-18 presented today in Parliament by the Union Minister of
Finance and Corporate Affairs, Shri Arun Jaitley informs that as on December
2017, there were 9.8 million unique GST registrants slightly more than the
total Indirect Tax registrants under the old system (where many taxpayers were
registered under several taxes).

Minister Shri Arun Jaitley presents general Budget 2018-19 in Parliament. Budget
guided by mission to strengthen agriculture, rural development, health,
education, employment, MSME and infrastructure sectors!
At the juncture Narendra Modi, PM India said:
“For a long time, the small and medium enterprises or the MSME in our country
had to pay higher taxes than the big industries. In a bold in this budget, the
government has reduced the tax rate for MSME by 5% now they will have to pay
25% tax in place of 30% which was the practice earlier.
Budget hampers industry aspiration!

are disappointed with the increase in customs duty of cut and polished Diamonds

from 2.5% to 5% , as it was not included as part of the industry’s
recommendations to the Government.
