Pangolin Diamonds announces a drill program at the Company’s wholly-owned Malatswae and Moenyenana Diamond Projects, Botswana. Pangolin has been working on developing new drill targets at these projects for the past 8 months. Dr. Chris Jennings assisted the Company’s management with the process of identifying new pipe targets.

The 7th International Diamond Week (IDWI), remained open during February 5 to 7 & concluded with a prevailing sense of optimism. The event hosted 500 buyers from 30 countries, with 200 diamond and jewelry companies exhibiting their goods at the Trading Hall of the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE).

Gold demand down by 7% in 2017!

 

Gold demand rallied in the closing months of 2017, gaining 6% year-on-year in Q4 to reach 1,095.8 tonnes (t). However, overall demand for the full year fell by 7% to 4,071.7t, compared with 2016, according to the World Gold Council’s latest Gold Demand Trends report.

According to the WGC report, Gold Demand Trends Full Year 2017, modest Q4 growth sets the seal on a positive year for jewellery demand. Full-year gold jewellery demand increased by 4% to 2,135.5t; the first year of growth since 2013. India’s 12% YoY improvement was partly due to a very weak 2016. Demand fluctuated on changes in tax and regulation!

South Africa has more than R220 billion worth of investments in the project pipeline for the mining industry which include the platinum group metals (PGMs) & more  minerals& metals as well as, energy. Addressing the 2018 Annual Investing in Africa Mining Indaba in Cape Town, Mineral Resources Minister Mosebenzi Zwane said the investment demonstrates that the country remains a critical investment destination.

First MSE Sentiment Index launched

The Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Shri Arun Jaitley launched CriSidEx , India’s first sentiment index for micro and small enterprises ( MSEs) developed jointly by CRISIL & SIDBI here today.

CriSidEx is a composite index based on a diffusion index of 8 parameters and measures MSE business sentiment on a scale of 0 (extremely negative ) to 200 ( extremely positive) . The parametric feedback was captured through a survey of 1100 MSEs in November –December.
