Covid-19 restricts DeBeers production!

DeBeers Production report for the 1Q of 2020 & say, rough diamond production was in line with prior year at 7.8 million carats, with limited impact from COVID-19 measures introduced at the end of the quarter in producer countries.

Botswana production decreased by 5% to 5.6 million carats, driven by a 7% decrease at Orapa due to challenges related to commissioning of new plant infrastructure and maintenance, while production at Jwaneng reduced by 4% due to planned lower grade.

Gold targets defined at Tabakorole!

Altus Strategies, the Africa focused project and royalty generator, announces the results of a high-resolution ground magnetic survey undertaken at the Company’s Tabakorole gold project located on the in southern Mali. The survey was completed by Altus personnel under the joint venture between Glomin Services Ltd and Altus, as previously announced by the Company on 02 December 2019.

Over a past few weeks, a series of webinars have been organised by J. K. Diamonds Institute of Gems & Jewelry under the banner Productive lockdown series for its students and alumni. Institute has also organised virtual classroom experience for its students.

IBBI relief in insolvency process amid Covid-19

To address this difficulty faced by the lockdown due to Covid-19, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) amended the CIRP Regulations to provide that the period of lockdown imposed by the Central Government in the wake of Covid-19 outbreak shall not be counted for the purposes of the time-line for any activity that could not be completed due to the lockdown, in relation to a corporate insolvency resolution process.
