Jewels in the Love in Verona
The
jewels in the Love in Verona collection are part of the thread that connects
the Roberto Coin brand to cities around Italy and takes us on a countrywide
tour where the pieces become ambassadors of beauty. Everyone knows Verona as
the city of Romeo and Juliet, a symbol of love in literature, but not everyone
knows that Verona is home to a very special women’s club.
Since
its foundation in 1930, the Juliet Club has hosted a group of women who read
and answer the love letters that arrive, addressed to Juliet, from all over the
world. Every letter that arrives is kept in an archive in the heart of Verona,
an archive of love. This is the inspiration for the Love in Verona collection.

remain the same, from the sword-shaped hands to the beaded winding crown, from
the sunray satin-finished dial to the case back engraved with the initials S=D,
the signature of Alberto Santos-Dumont. This timepiece pays homage to the dandy

Rough diamond prices in Covid scenario
Paul
Zimnisky inks at WDC about rough diamond prices in the midst of the Covid
Crisis. He inks, much of the diamond supply chain has been virtually suspended
since border closures and travel restrictions globally were implemented in the
last two weeks of March in response to the Covid pandemic.
The
diamond manufacturing hub in India was officially closed on March 24 and most
retail outlets that sell diamonds and jewelry throughout the world, excluding
China, were mandated to shut doors in mid-to-late March. While some rough
diamond trading has taken place in recent weeks, the relative volume of transactions
has been minimal due the aforementioned travel restrictions, and ultimately a
lack of downstream demand as closed jewelers have no need to replenish
inventory.
Trade set to plunge as Covid-19 upends!
Recently
WTO said in its’ Trade Statistics and Outlook: Trade set to plunge as Covid-19
pandemic upends global economy that, the economic shock of the Covid-19
pandemic inevitably invites comparisons to the global financial crisis of
2008-09. These crises are similar in certain respects but very different in
others.
As
in 2008-09, governments have again intervened with monetary and fiscal policy
to counter the downturn and provide temporary income support to businesses and
households. But restrictions on movement and social distancing to slow the
spread of the disease mean that labour supply, transport and travel are today
directly affected in ways they were not during the financial crisis.
