After the phenomenal success of its first edition and increasing demand from the buyers as well as sellers, GJEPC is all set to organize the 2nd edition of India Diamond Week (IDW) in Mumbai from 23 & up to 25 October 2018. This year, India Diamond Week will be held on the side lines of World Diamond Council’s AGM and World Federation of Diamond Bourses’ bi-annual Congress at Mumbai.

Filing ITR dates extended

Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) further extends date for filing Income Tax Returns (ITR) and Audit Reports. The due date for filing of Income Tax Returns and Audit Reports for Assessment Year 2018-19 is 30th September, 2018 for certain categories of taxpayers.

CBDT had earlier extended the date for filing of Income Tax Returns and various reports of Audit to 15th October, 2018. Upon consideration of representations from various stakeholders, CBDT further extends the ‘due date’ for filing of Income Tax Returns as well as reports of Audit (which were required to be filed by the said specified date) from 15th October, 2018 to 31st October, 2018 in respect of the said categories of taxpayers.

GSI’s yet another Successful JDW in Kolhapur

Gemological Science International (GSI) hosted a free Jewelry Design Workshop (JDW) at Centre of Excellence Gem & Jewellery Institute at Kolhapur. Mr. Bharat Oswal, Chief official from the Gem & Jewellery Association was present at inauguration ceremony to facilitate Raja Gondkar—Education Head at GSI. The workshop witnessed an overwhelming response of 40 students participating at the event from various specialties and many allied jewelry design practitioners were present too.

“The Centre of Excellence Gem and Jewelry Institute will soon launch its full fledge Jewelry Design laboratory and GSI’s has played a core role in setting the foundation of awareness for the University by conducting a day-long workshop” said Shashak Mandre – Jewelry Department Head.

Women! Be cautious if it is a diamond buying: Kashi Jewellers

Shreyansh Kapoor, Vice President, Kashi Jewellers addressed women at a panel discussion held at a grand event Diamond 2.0 by FICCI FLO Lucknow-Kanpur Chapter at Status Club on Friday 7th September on the topic Synthetic Diamond vs. Natural Diamond to educate women and make them aware from fraudulent practices. Along with him, Prasad Kapre, Former co chairman of FICCI and India head of DeBeers was also on the panel.

The dignitaries shared their expertise and said that there are two types of manmade diamonds, High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) and Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD). The difference between man-made and natural diamond is not noticeable from the naked eye of a person.
