Single Window System for Investors!

The State Reforms proposed by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) requires States and Union Territories (UTs) to have a Single Window System across various Departments with the following features:

1: Allow online submission of application without the need to submit physical copies of the application.

2: Eliminate physical touch-point for document submission and verification.

3: Allow applicant to track status of application online.

4: Ensure the applicant receives an SMS or e-mail notification as and when the application is submitted and/or query is raised and/or application is approved/rejected.

5: Service wise approvals may be granted as and when received from the Department concerned.

6: Mandate that all queries/clarifications related to investors' application are sought in one go and within 7 days of receipt of the application.

Trans Atlantic Gem Sales (TAGS) will be holding a rough diamond tender in Dubai at the Dubai Diamond Exchange in the Almas Tower from the 16th July to the 23rd July 2019.

 

Two regular productions from South Africa and Angola will again be presented. All materials are of high quality and high colour and contain a significant number of large single stones and exceptional specials. TAGS are expecting in the region of 20,000 carats of South African goods and 10,000 carats of Angolan goods across a full range of sizes.

The Executive Committee of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) gathered at the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) in Ramat Gan, Israel, on June 24th, with one of the major issues discussed being the impact of synthetic diamonds on the global diamond industry.

 

In a special address to the meeting, Mr. Martin Rapaport, Chairman of the Rapaport Group, explained that melee goods have been losing value since January and that there is a serious concern that prices for this category of goods of lower quality and purity will decline further.

Government Plans to increase MSMEs

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprisesis is striving to increase the number of micro and small industries in the country on a sustainable basis through implementation of various schemes and programmes. The Ministry provides better credit facility, technology upgradation and skilling to boost the entire MSME eco-system.

          

Followings are the major schemes being implemented by Ministry of MSME: 

(i) Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP): This is a credit-linked subsidy programme aimed at generating self-employment opportunities through establishment of micro-enterprises in the non-farm sector by helping traditional artisans and unemployed youth. The Scheme was launched during 2008-09. A total of 5.45 lakh micro enterprises have been assisted with a margin money subsidy of Rs.12074.04crore, providing employment opportunities to an estimated 45.22 lakh persons since PMEGP’s inception till 31.03.2019.

Broadway Gold Mining Ltd announced that Kennecott Exploration Company, part of the Rio Tinto Group, has commenced with a drilling campaign at Broadway’s Madison copper-gold project located in the Butte Region of Montana.

 

The initial drilling program consists of three drill holes targeting an area displaying multi-element soil and rock chip geochemical anomalies, historic prospects, strong Induced Polarization (IP) anomalies and porphyry drill intercepts identified by Broadway’s technical team and four holes targeting skarn mineralization.

The Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization), aka GIT has announced its readiness to organize the International Chanthaburi Gems and Jewelry Festival 2019 (ICGJF) in December to promote Chanthaburi as the world’s City of Gems, hosting a comprehensive center for gems and jewelry production, trading and investment.

 

“The GIT and our partners from both, public and private sectors are working together to push forward Chanthaburi to become the global City of Gems, colored gemstone production and trading hubs of the world. As much as 80% of colored gemstones worldwide have been circulated through Thailand for cutting and enhancing their quality,” said Mrs. Duangkamol Jiambutr, Director of GIT.
