from 15th to 17th October 2019, which is aimed at creating an annual trading
platform to increase communication amongst diamantaires and promoting the Make

exporters with buyers from countries across the world.
CIBJO releases Ethics Special Report
With
fewer than five weeks to go to the opening of the 2019 CIBJO Congress in
Manama, Bahrain, on November 18, 2019, the sixth of the CIBJO commissions'
Special Reports has been released. Prepared by the CIBJO Ethics Commission,
headed by Tiffany Stevens, it covers a variety of topics, including the
increasing number of international conventions with which members of the
jewellery industry are expected to comply, and recommended processes of
disclosure.

The GPHG creates a sensation in Mexico

Sydney and Bangkok, the 84 watches pre-selected by the jury of the 2019 Grand
Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) are on show in Mexico at the SIAR – Salón
Internacional Alta Relojería – the largest watch show in Latin America, held
from October 15th to 17th at the St. Regis Mexico City hotel.

Rio Tinto unveils US$1.1 million jewellery
Rio
Tinto has unveiled in New York an iconic piece of jewellery handcrafted using
Argyle diamonds from its Australian mine and gold that has been mined and
minted by Rio Tinto in the US.
The
US$1.1 million necklace and ring known as Argyle Dreaming, was created by famed
international designer, master craftsman and jeweller John Calleija. The
one-off necklace and ring pays homage to the ancient landscape and majestic
colours of the east Kimberley region of Western Australia, home to the 1.6
billion year old Argyle gems.
