Alrosa production of 12.1 m carats in 3Q
Q3
diamond production seasonally grew by 24% q-o-q (up 15% y‑o‑y)
to 12.1 m cts due to the launch of production at new deposits and expansion of
the existing ones (for more details see page 5). As a consequence, production
in 9M 2019 reached 29.7 m cts (up 12% y-o-y).
Q3
ore and gravels processing seasonally grew by 64% q-o-q (flat y-o-y) to 17.2
mt. A 3% y-o-y increase in 9M 2019 to 34 mt was mainly due to the ramp-up of
production at the V.Munskoye deposit and increased productivity at the Nyurba
and Udachny Division’s processing plants, Ore and gravels inventories as at the
end of Q3 2019 seasonally decreased by 26% q-o-q (up 9% y-o-y) to 23.6 mt.
Lulo 2019 sales reached to US$35.1mn so far!

(Endiama) and Rosas & Petalas announces the results from the latest sale of
diamonds from the Lulo alluvial mine in Angola. Further announced of previous
sales, another run of mine parcel of 1,736 carats of Lulo diamonds has sold for
gross proceeds of US$2.6 million (A$3.9 million), representing an average price
per carat of US$1,530 (A$2,265).
David Kellie to join as DPA-CEO from December
The
Diamond Producers Association (DPA) today announced that Jean-Marc Lieberherr
has decided to step down from his role as CEO at the end of his current
contract period on 31 December 2019. David Kellie will join the organisation in
December 2019, enabling a smooth transition of leadership.
Jean-Marc
has filled key leadership positions at the DPA since it was formed in December
2015, initially as its first Chairman, then as its CEO.
Sarine returns to nominal Profit in Q3
Sarine
Technologies Ltd announced the update on its investing public as to industry
developments and the Group’s revenues and profitability for Q3 2019. In our Q2
2019 results, we noted that the prevailing negatives in the diamond industry
midstream had continued to have negative impact on the Group's financial
results.

rising gold prices, which is a very positive sign. It is also the onset of the
wedding season, so there is a good demand for small & big ticket items. Here

GIA Commits for Artisanal Mining Education
Building
on a successful pilot and feedback from small-scale colored gemstone miners in
Tanzania, GIA (Gemological Institute of America) will expand distribution of
its innovative gem guide for artisanal miners to other communities and
countries in Africa.
