New York: Signet Jewellers executives Stuart Lee and Clark McEwen will retire after decades in the industry, the company said Wednesday.
Lee currently executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, joined Signet in 1996 as director of gold in the company’s merchandising department. He was later director of merchandising and corporate watches at Signet’s Jared jewellery chain, where he introduced the “Leo” branded diamond and new lines such as LeVian, which became one of the group’s largest-volume brands. Before taking on his present roles, he served as VP of corporate merchandising, as well as senior VP of merchandising and general manager.
McEwen senior vice president of company subsidiary Signet Direct Diamond Sourcing - has spent 32 years in the diamond industry, including as global marketing manager for Rio Tinto Diamonds. He was also chief operating officer and VP for marketing at The Gemesis Corporation, and manager of the CanadaMark brand at BHP Billiton, among other roles. He joined Signet in 2011, focusing his efforts on making the company’s diamond supply chain more efficient.
“Stuart and Clark have been shining examples of the type of team members that have helped Signet to become the great business it is today,” Signet CEO Mark Light said in a company statement. “It is with mixed emotions that I announce the retirement of these two remarkable individuals who have been instrumental to our company’s growth and success.”
