AWDC's Pavilion with 83 Companies at HK Show

Antwerp: The Antwerp diamond industry is readying to send a large delegation to the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show next week, February 28 - March 4. The Antwerp Diamond Pavilion, organized by the Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC), will host over 80 companies and occupy nearly 1,200 square meters of the Diamond Hall at the AsiaWorld-Expo.

As an additional feature this year, exhibitors at the Antwerp Diamond Pavilion will have the opportunity to screen their diamond parcels using HRD Antwerp's M-Screen+ at no cost during the show. The M-Screen+ is HRD Antwerp’s super-fast screening device that automatically feeds, screens and sorts round brilliant diamonds from 0.005 - 0.20 ct at an incredible speed of three diamonds/sec. Participants may drop by AWDC's booth (2-U15) for a free demo. HRD Antwerp will additionally offer diamond grading services at the show.

Participants may drop off their diamonds for certification and sealing at their booth (AWE 2-P06) and have them returned the next day. Clients dropping of their diamonds at their Hong Kong office before Monday February 27 get a 20% discount off the Show price list. Diamonds and grading reports can be retrieved one day later, at their office.

The Hong Kong trade fairs are always among the most important appointments in the year for the global diamond and jewelry industry. Hong Kong is Antwerp's second largest market for polished diamonds, good for 26% of all polished exports and 22% of polished imports in 2016. Antwerp exported nearly 1.4 million carats worth $3 billion to Hong Kong last year, while importing 1.1 million carats worth $2.5 billion.

"This Hong Kong show essentially kicks off the international polished diamond trade year", says AWDC Business Development Officer Taïssa Deridder, "and all of us at the Antwerp Diamond Pavilion are really looking forward to what 2017 has to offer. We are bringing along with us 83 Antwerp companies featuring the entire spectrum of diamonds, HRD Antwerp will be delivering added value on site and the New Year has brought new enthusiasm. We anticipate a strong show." AWDC will participate in three trade fairs in Hong Kong this year, including June and September.
