Coin for Britain's exit from the EU

On 31 January 2020, a new 50p coin observing the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union will be released. The coin will be available as gold and silver Proof editions, as well as a Brilliant Uncirculated edition and as part of a two-coin historic set.

 

In addition, a number of gold Sovereigns will be struck on the day and these particular coins will feature a portcullis privy mark a historic day to strike your own coin at the Royal Mint experience! To mark this milestone in the United Kingdom’s history, The Royal Mint Experience will be open for 24 hours on 31 January 2020.

 

For one day only, you will be able to attend a unique tour that includes a discussion of how The Royal Mint has changed since the UK first joined the European Economic Community in 1973. All tours on 31 January are now fully booked. There will still be an opportunity to strike your own, withdrawal from the EU coin as part of standard tours between the dates 1-12 February 2020.
