Planageo confirms gold reserves

A study carried out in the last three months under the National Geography Plan (Planageo) confirmed the existence of reserves for gold and diamond exploration in the Cuima commune, Caála (Huambo) municipality, considered in colonial times as the iron zone, which served to foster the economic sector.

 

The information was given to Angop, by the administrator of Cuima commune, Henrique Silvério, noting that the results of recent studies indicate the possibility of exploring these two important ores, gold and diamond-for the national economy.

 

He stated that if the existence of these ores in the locality is definitively approved, with an estimated population of 76,031 inhabitants, mostly agribusiness, the rules of Angolan legislation should be established and applied, so that the exploitation will benefit local communities.

 

In another part of the statements, Henrique Silvério stressed the need for the re-launch of iron exploration, to contribute to the economic and social development of the central plateau, by promoting the construction of infrastructures.
