3rd DDES concludes with high note!
GII could sale more detection machines!
Update 2: Visitor’s said, it is a need of the hour, this types of instruments-n-tech should be made more & that to be available for diamond player at very competitive tag! Some of the members of MDMA & visitor’s at DDES said, previously many of the middle-man survived on the back of star-n-melee diamonds. Yet, numbers of such small players are being pushed away because, there are huge chances of mixing in this range & sometimes it is costly for them & they had no contacts to source from BDB members.
The GJEPC has undertaken two initiatives at a time 1: creates awareness & 2: plays strict with the help of Natural Diamond Monitoring Committee (NDMC).
The third edition of DDES concluded after running during April 23 & up to 25 at BDB, Mumbai. Maximum visitors’ attended seminars & GIA presentations in the dome of DDES. Even on the last day & even during the last hours GIA presentation had going on with visitors! Those who wish to stay-n-rock the diamond trade-n-deal understands the DDES- how worthy is!
Every available stalls had brought their instruments & technology that detects Synthetic stones swiftly.
De facto just ahead the opening of the 3rd DDES, the Diamond Services, the Hong Kong had made claimed & had said, their research it has conducted indicates that synthetic diamonds, which have created under conditions of High Pressure-High Temperature (HPHT) and then subject to irradiation treatment, may be escaping detection by many of the screening devices available in the market that are testing diamonds at room temperature.
Diamond Services says, “The trade alert refers specifically to readily available detecting devices that examine diamonds at room temperatures, screening out stones that display phosphorescence after being exposure to an ultraviolet (UV) source.
In the row, many players had taken interest in the IIDGR tech-n-tool as they had conveyed diamond player that their tech is relevant! The International Institute of Diamond Grading & Research (IIDGR) immediately reacted & confirmed that its instruments AMS2, SYNTHdetect, DiamondView and DiamondSure are all effective at screening HPHT synthetic material which has been irradiated and is tested at room temperature. Any business using these devices can have full confidence that any such material will be detected without the need to undertake tests at different temperatures.
On the other hand many players also taken interest in Gemmological Institute of India (GII). GII Mumbai and Arotek Scientific Instruments Pvt Ltd have launched ‘One stop solution for CVD and HPHT Synthetic Diamonds Identification’ & in the series they offers Q-CGK, Q-CHK & recently launched in 2017, Q-CHK++.
These GII technology is Simple to operate, detects diamonds of all shapes & sizes, tests about 1000 stones within a 7-10 seconds & even mounted jewellery can be tested with the tech at affordable price. De facto GII is eying on a network to spread around 20 key districts with awareness programme! No doubt GJEPC also have encouraged both, GII & small players by offering 50% discount on the GII tach tag during the last DDES.
