RJC introducing SDG
Recently the RJC has announced two-part of webinar series & introducing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These 17 goals covering social, economic and environmental areas, were developed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
How does SDG apply to me and my business, Aren’t these goals just for governments or What do these goals have to do with the jewellery industry like several question arises! Over the two-part of webinar series would address all those questions & speakers will explain what the SDGs are and how the jewellery industry can positively contribute to them.
According to the details, the First part of the webinar series would be held on March 01, 2018 & that would address, the purpose and aims of the SDGs. Part one would be addressed by Peter Wollaert, CIFAL Flanders- they provides training on UN initiatives, and Karla Basselier, Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC).
Both of them will present the purpose and aims of the SDGs, and the potential role of business to contribute to them. Part 2 would focus SDGs in practice on March 15. According to the RJC, “across the two-part series, you’ll learn how businesses can have a positive influence on the SDG agenda and ultimately ‘improve life, in a sustainable way, for future generations.” “There will be a plenty of opportunity to ask questions following the discussion during both webinars” RJC adds.
